That link has been removed because al modern sources agree Herlevas parents are unknown. I have added these back again Pending further investigation because some of my records (while not naming these two directly) indicate a strong likelihood of connection that gave William a double claim not only to the kingship of Wessex and Kent but also to the Pictish and Scots territories to the north, rendering him a legitimate candidate for the throne of England and Scotland.
