Col. Edward Hampton was the only one not to survive, having been murdered by Tories in 1780. Enlisted as a Captain?
All five Hampton sons fought the Cherokess with the Ninety Six Whig militia until the Cherokees sued for peace and the Treaty of 1777, and later served with distinction in the State Troops on the Continental Line during the American Revolution.
