NOTES FOR BEGINNERS:
  • Single or empty records are not allowed here. Please delete such a record by pressing the delete tab or mark it for deletion using the template: {{delete|reason}}
  • Clan field - it's the surname in singular if it doesn't change by gender (English or Western European languages, for instance). If the name is in a language, such as Russian or Ukranian, where it depends on sex, put it in the plural (for ex., Petrov/Petrova - Petrovs)
  • Place field must have each administrative unit separated by commas (for ex., London, England, UK)
  • Upload photos via special pages. They could be used in different places
  • If you record was changed check whether it was correction or vandalism. If vandalism - immediately tell us about it.

Hi there! How do you feel about the new system working with records? --Stanley 21:56, 19 June 2007 (EEST)

I love this software. I have been deep in genealogy since 1993, and have been struggling with the existing software and websites that always have all of the family files as separate individual files. I am also a software developer, and I was experimenting with writing my own genealogy wiki, but didn't have the time to take it very far. I had the concept in my mind and you guys definitely hit the spot with this website...far more than I even imagined. Now I am redoing all of my genealogy once and for all on this website and hopefully it will be available for a long time for others to add to it.

Keep up the great work, I'll continue to let you know if there are any bugs that I come across, but I think you got the major ones taken care of.

Thanks again, jeremy

Jeremy, many thanks for you reply and comments. We are working to improve the site even further. Hopefully, time will come to refresh the design as well to make it look disctinct from all the Monobook-like websites. --Stanley 22:04, 19 June 2007 (EEST)

[edit] refs

Hi Baya, You showed me how to use <ref name="..."/> to denote sources. I am having some trouble with the sources working for some but not others. Please reference the following person:

Dorothy Rose Gorman (Dunn, Mallaney) (Gorman, b. 30 April 1925 d. 1 November 2007)

I have citations for source S3, but they do not show up when I save them. I did it exactly the same way that I did S2 & S4. Is it possibly a problem with odd/even? Regards, Jeremy. --Buttroast98 19:56, 15 November 2007 (EET)

Possibly it is due to you put some refs not into event's info field but wrongly into event's place field. --Baya 17:13, 16 November 2007 (EET)

[edit] Koprivnica

Hello !
I noticed that you created a page for Place:Koprancza. By curiosity, I looked on Wikipedia, and on the Hungarian page, they seem to say that the old name was "Kaproncza". Other internet pages use "Kaproncsa". I know that places often have different names or spellings, so I wonder if one is more correct than others ? Dn Gov (t) 01:00, 15 August 2016 (EEST)

[edit] Nice contributions

Hello!

I've noticed that your contributions are really serious and well sourced. If I've tagged some of them with "need sources" warning, don't be affraid to erase this tag!

I guess you understood that we have created (with DNgov) all needed "Place:" pages in Rodovid.EN, and because of that, it's now possiblle to track new wanted pages!

Have a nice day! --Christophe Tesson - talk. 17:33, 3 September 2016 (EEST)
