Notes

Henrietta Churchill, 2nd Duchess of Marlborough and Countess of Godolphin (July 19, 1681–October 24, 1733) was the daughter of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough and Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough.

Henrietta succeeded to her father's titles suo jure when he died in 1722 and thus became Duchess of Marlborough, Countess of Marlborough, Marchioness of Blandford and Baroness Churchill of Sandridge.

She married Francis Godolphin, 2nd Earl of Godolphin, on 23 April 1698. They had five children:

  • Hon. Harry Godolphin
  • Lady Margaret Godolphin
  • Lady Henrietta Godolphin (d. 1776), married Thomas Pelham-Holles, 1st Duke of Newcastle but had no issue.
  • William Godolphin, Marquess of Blandford (c. 1700–1731), married Maria Catherina de Jong.
  • Lady Mary Godolphin (c. 1725–1764), married Thomas Osborne, 4th Duke of Leeds and had issue.

Henrietta died in 1733, aged 52 and she was buried on 9 November 1733 in Westminster Palace. Her titles passed to her nephew, Charles Spencer, 4th Earl of Sunderland.
