She was the daughter of lumber merchant and town councilor Peder Nielsen Leuch (c. 1636-1693) and Anne Mortensdatter Ugle.
On July 21, 1686, she married a lumber merchant James Collett (1655-1727), the ancestor of the Norwegian Collett family. This marriage led the Collett and Leuch families to maintain close ties with each other.
