Notes

The names of his parents are not known. He became the ancestor of the Norwegian Collett family.

1676 he became a merchant. 1677 he came to Christiania where he started trading with timber merchants from several Norwegian towns and one of them was Peder Nielsen Leuch who became his stepfather in 1686.

1683, he settled in Christiania, then he was the local representative of the English merchants. 1703 he took an oath of allegiance to the Danish-Norwegian king and from 1704 he could trade under his own name in Norway. He never became a Norwegian citizen.
