Shortly thereafter the Kaskans as a distinct people dissappear from the record and are replaced or merged into the smaller tribes in the areas which they conquer. The Luwian people and Halizones are the only remaining remnants of the once great confederation in the western region with a capital in the city of Tarhuntassa (Troy) while Pontus begins its ascendancy in the East.
