Rodovid is a genealogical database of free content that uses MediaWiki, which would have established a number of principles defined by the community. NOTES FOR BEGINNERS: Single or empty records are not allowed here. Please delete such a record by pressing the delete tab or mark it for deletion using the template: {{delete|reason}} Clan field - it's the surname in singular if it doesn't change by gender (English or Western European languages, for instance). If the name is in a language, such as Russian or Ukranian, where it depends on sex, put it in the plural (for ex., Petrov/Petrova - Petrovs) Place field must have each administrative unit separated by commas (for ex., London, England, UK) Upload photos via special pages. Top of a page like this one, you have two tabs : "user page" and "discussion". User page is your personal area where you can add links or references (no one else is supposed to modify it). And "discussion" is your talk page (the place where you can exchange information with other users about your personal interests).
Signing is usually done with two tildes ~~, adding the name of the member for a link to his/her user page, followed by (d) for a link to the corresponding talk page.

For searches, you have several methods : looking for surnames, or using google to list their index of Rodovid pages.

-- In order to search with surnames, beginners can use an existing page (for example Lineage:Sikorski) and replace Sikorski in the address by the surname that interests you (when it is done, press "enter"). To the right of a page like that, you have links to similar pages where the surname is translated in other languages. (To the left of pages, you have a link "List of last names" for a complete index of surnames registered in Rodovid.)

-- In order to search with google, write a name in the search box to the left of any page and click on button "Search". That will bring you to a "Search results" page where you will click on the "Search" button to the right in order to view the google list.
