NOTES FOR BEGINNERS:
  • Single or empty records are not allowed here. Please delete such a record by pressing the delete tab or mark it for deletion using the template: {{delete|reason}}
  • Clan field - it's the surname in singular if it doesn't change by gender (English or Western European languages, for instance). If the name is in a language, such as Russian or Ukranian, where it depends on sex, put it in the plural (for ex., Petrov/Petrova - Petrovs)
  • Place field must have each administrative unit separated by commas (for ex., London, England, UK)
  • Upload photos via special pages. They could be used in different places
  • If you record was changed check whether it was correction or vandalism. If vandalism - immediately tell us about it.

== Welcome == Hello! Welcome to my talk page. Don't be shy, leave me a message! Wiki-ing is a cooperative effort and it takes dialog to reach consensus and sidestep edit wars. I welcome your comments and feedback. Stephen Carlson 08:52, 13 March 2008 (EET)

Steven, Who exactly did you delete from Cerdic's genealogy? This is entirely relevant since it represents new studies and findings with regard to legitimacy of the Wessex claims to the High Kingship of Britain. If you delete a relationship you should make a note of it in the notes field of that individual. Almoustine 19:55, 2 May 2009 (EEST)

Good question, why doesn't the diff tool show that? I deleted whoever was previously listed as his parents, because I can find much evidence stating that his lineage is unknown, but nothing supporting the relationship that was listed here. Can I urge you to do a better job referencing your claims? I am concerned in general that there is too much mythical content and not enough emphasis on fact. I don't want to be able to trace my genealogy to Odin and Jesus and the Greek Gods, unless those relationships can be substantiated. 69.181.79.29 00:04, 3 May 2009 (EEST)

I have been doing a great deal of research on the much ignored Roman histories (in latin) and their ties to Wales, Sarmatia, and Gaul. This has led me to some interesting connections. I shall try to do a better job of documenting. But please realize that I have not included any links to mythical heroes that do not have basis in fact. If I have linked lineages to an Odin, Jesus, or any of the Greek gods, or Christian Patriarchs it is because I have found them to be historical persons. In the case of Christian Patriarchs and Egyptian, Hurrian sources I do not rely entirely upon the bible realizing that it is only a record of a single ethnic group. Rather I pull from multiple sources until I am able to correlate the findings and identify a single individual. I pull in studies from all disciplines, geography, histories, scriptural reference, linquistics, archaelogy and more in making a determination. If I am unsure I will note it.
