"31. WILLIAM McKINLEY, born in Pine Township, Mercer County, PA, November 15, 1807; died in 1892. Manager of the old furnace near New Wilmington, Lawrence County, PA, for twenty-one years. Married Nancy Allison in 1829, and resided in Poland, Ohio. Was a devout Methodist, a staunch Whig, a good Republican and an ardent advocate of a protective tariff."
