Notes
A Christopher Addison is listed as a RW veteran from Franklin Co, GA in a book titled "Georgia's Roster of the Revolution". Agnes is listed as his widow. The source for Agnes Montgomery Addison's maiden name is from Mrs. Era Stinson of Bowling Green, KY who states that Christopher Addison was the person that settled the estate of Samuel Montgomery. However, the probate court clerk in Winnsboro, SC does not have the will & estate records for Samuel who died bet 1800-1818. These records for Fairfield Co., SC may be at the Archives in Columbia. William Addison, brother of Christopher, served in the Rev War as a substitute for Christopher after C. returned from a long campaign. William's pension application used the family Bible & gave their father's name as Thomas. From: "Linda Moore" <blm4121@@compaq.net> To: "Debbie Jenkins" <daj@@hemc.net>

The following is being copied directly from a letter from Jean Clark dated 9 July 1998: "...When Frank Nolen came a few weeks ago I was able to take him to Coosa co. and chambers Co. (Alabama). He got to see the tomb of Mary Addison, daughter of Christopher and Agnes Addison born in the Fairfield Dist., SC. Then we took him to Lafayette (Ala) ...Sweet Home Methodist Church where Stephen Nolen (Rev. Soldier) who married Mary Smythe is buried. It is sorta sad because she (Mary) is buried in Butts Co., Ga. He came to live with his son, Isaac and died. He was a very old man. Then his son, Isaac, went to Texas and poor old Stephen is the only Nolen buried at Sweet Home. But his grave has been marked by the DAR. We really should have Christopher Addison's grave marked at Pine Grove Cemetery in Coosa County. The church is gone but the Cemetery is kept very well. I have never been there when it did't look nice. My Hubbard great great Grand father & Grand Mother are buried there. He was in the 1812 war. So his grave needs to be marked too."
And, a letter dated Sept 1989: "...He (Christopher) was the administrator of a will for Thomas Addison. Others that has researched this say this is his father. It saw he left a widow and 7 children but does not list them. But, as I looked at the early 1800 Census according to ages they could be brothers. I never could find where he was referred to as son. I know the records are scarce. In Columbia SC, they have what records they have. Christopher got a Royal land grant. I found this in Columbia."
There was a Christopher Addison in Gwinnett Co. GA in 1820 Census 000001-00101-1 "A man of this name was enumerated in Fairfield District, SC, in 1790." GONE TO GEORGIA p. 241
