The historacity of Esther has been questioned and dismissed by a large body of secular archaeologists and historians based on failure on the part of biblical scholars to fix Esther in her proper time and place in history. This mystery however has been fairly simple to unravel using clues available in the Targum Sheni which gives lineages for both Mordekai ? (Marduk-bel-shunu) (a descendant of King Saul) and Haman (Hamayun) whose lineage can be traced also to the time of Saul and beyond to Esau. The lineages match perfectly to make them peers with Ahaseurus (Achaemenides) of Achaea. Both lineages match without any missing generations to confirm Ahaseurus and Haman as peers and Achaemenides as the Ahaseurus to whom Esther was married. The child of Ahaseurus and Esther was Deioces (Darius), the Xšayārša of Tyre and the first heir of the House of Achaemenes.
