Elle fut la fille aînée de Mamia III et d'Hélène Abachidzé.
Elle fut connue pour sa beauté et elle fut surnommée Kortchibola 'Chevilles de cristal'.
1710, elle devint l'intermédiaire qui forgea une alliance puissante entre la Gourie et la principauté voisine de Mingrélie en épousant Georges IV de Mingrélie ou Dadiani. Celui-ci rejoignit la révolte contre la couronne centrale du royaume d'Iméréthie ou le roi Georges VII d'Iméréthie.
1714, lorsque le fils de Georges IV Bejan de Mingrélie renversa son père et l'obligea à se remarier à sa première femme, elle quitta la Mingrélie et retourna probablement en Gourie dirigé alors par son frère Georges VIII .
1716-1719, elle épousa à Akhaltsikhé le roi Georges VII d'Iméréthie, l'ennemi de son premier mari, mais ils durent aller à Constantinople afin de recevoir l'approbation de la Sublime Porte, puis ce fut le retour en Iméréthie.
1720, son mari fut assassiné par son frère Georges VIII qui prit le pouvoir, mais il fut renversé par Alexandre V d’Iméréthie.
Vers 1727, le pacha ottoman d'Akhaltsikhé Ishaq Ier Jakéli captura l'ancienne reine Tamar avant de la livrer au prince Bejan de Mingrélie.
1741, le nouveau pacha d'Akhaltsikhé Yousouf III renversa Alexandre V d’Iméréthie et plaça sur le trône Georges IX d'Iméréthie, le fils de la reine Tamar et du roi Georges VII.
1741, Alexandre V d’Iméréthie reprit son trône et il accusa sa belle-mère, la reine Tamar de conspiration.
1742, elle fut décapitée sur ordre d'Alexandre V d’Iméréthie.
