Several lineages in this database are based entirely upon mythological (i.e. religious, scriptural, and hagiographic sources without cross reference to contemporary historical documents and reconciliation to archaeological record). Others are strictly legendary without reconciling the record to the actual historical person. Persons labeled as English Mythology are those who centuries after their supposed lifetime were immortalized in literary works without historical foundation and/or who were ascribed deeds postmortem which were either not performed by the person themselves or which have been mythologized. Some of the persons in this Category may be the same as persons found elsewhere in other lineages but were taken out of context and not reconciled through careful study of contemporary literature which defines them within their historical and familial context.
