Not to be confused with Bias (Bu'adz) (Boaz) (?, ?) or Bias ? (Pylos, Exhilos) (?, ?) or Ram (Biblical, ?)
He is said to be a contemporary of Manoah ? (Habiru Confederation - Dan, ?) however this may only be correct if there is some discrepancy between the Rabbinical and Christian versions of the biblical record. For Boaz, the great grandfather of King David, to have been a contemporary of Manoah would have been chronologically impossible. It is possible that Saloman the Horite, father of Boaz was a grandson of an earlier Boaz who was the contemporary of Manoah. And that this Boaz was actually the second of that name.
According to Josephus, Boaz was a contemporary of either Eleazar (Eli) ? (Judge of Israel) (Araunah, ?) which would indicate that there are many missing generations in the paternal genealogy of King David as recorded in the Bible or Eliezer ? (of Midian) (House of Mopsus, ?).
