In 1616 treedt hij op als boedelredder van zijn moeders nalatenschap. In 1605 was Wijbe met zijn broer Anne curator over de kinderen van zijn zuster, nadat haar man Folckert Wabes was overleden.Als omstreeks 1615 zijn broer Egbert sterft is hij ook enkele jaren curator over diens kinderen
