There are a couple of theories^{Ref needed !} about this "King":

• Ḫattušili II was a brother^{Ref needed !} of Tudḫaliya III and served as regent of the younger Tudhaliya in his minority as It is evident that this prince never became king. An additional note^{Ref needed !} exists with regard to this prince/governor; it is said^Where? that Ḫalap “sinned” against Ḫattušili, and Ḫattušili rewarded Aštata and Nuḫašše by giving them some of Ḫalap’s land.

Joseph of Egypt

The wife of this prince is given^{Ref needed !} as Tadukepa (Thuyu) which is the name of the princess given in marriage to the Egyptian Pharaoh Amenhotep III^{Ref needed !}. It is possible^Why? that this Hattusili is the Hittite name of the Egyptian Pharaoh who was somehow related to the family of Tudhaliya III.
