The name Aurboda signifies "Original Inhabitant" The clan designation Urfolk also signifies original inhabitant.

The early bards and historians encountered an people with an oral history. These earlier bards preserved racial memory of migration patterns by employing pneumonic devices such as anthropomorphic characters to condense centuries of history into a coherent orally transmittable saga to relate around the hearth. These allegories were later codified as myth and legend with the original players forgotten or transformed to archetypes which were later recorded by early historians.
