David was a Revolutionary War veteran. He filed for pension in 1832 in Rutherford Co., Tn. He was 81-82 years old. In his pension he stated that he lived in Charles City Co., Va. Then in Chesterfield Co., Va. where he enlisted. He then moved to Amelia Co. Then on to Nottaway Co. and enlisted again. He then moved to Halifax Co., Va. He moved to Tn abt 1823. (But as you can see in the census he was in Tn. before then.)
