Notes

A careful examination of The Haggadah, Book of Chronicles, and the Books of Samuel (Republican Source), suggest that Abigale was actually David's half sister who had been either forced into a Dynastic marriage with the Nabaal of Carmel the Rechabite, or had at one point been captured and then taken in marriage by her captor. In the Books of Samuel the battle between the forces of David and Nabaal is expressed in terms of a liberation of hostages. This would in part explain the complexity of relationship which existed between the parties and Abigail's behavior when torn between loyalty to her husband or loyalty to her brother.
