15 Jun 1812 Thomas Canter bought from James & Elizabeth Hodges, all of Clermont County, for $40.00 ten acres from the waters north of fork of Indian Creek survey #4458 surveyed for William Sytle part of 100 acre tract to Samuel Shepherd to James Hodges; "Beginning at two beeches and sugar tree...".

Last will and testament of Thomas Canter made 4/11/1839 in Clermont County, OH: _ In the name of the supreme being, I Thomas Canter of the County of Clermont and state of Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament to manor and form following, that is to say first my will is that any funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid, second I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Rebeca Canter, in lieu of her dower, the plantation on which we now reside situated in the county afore said on the waters of Indian Creek containing one hundred and twenty acres during her natural life and all the livestock, horses, cows, sheep, hogs by me now owned and kept thereon, all the_ household furniture and other items not particularly named and otherwise dispose of in this will during her natural life as aforesaid she however first disposing of a sufficiently thereof to pay all my just debts as afore said and that at the death of my said wife all the property hereby devised or bequeth to her as aforesaid or so much thereof as may then remain unexpended to ? heirs third, I devise and bequeath to my son William Canter ten dollars, fourth I devise and bequeath to my daughter, Sarah Sapp ten dollars fifth I devise and bequeath to my grand daughter Eliza Jane Canter one dollar, sixth I devise and bequeath to my son Thomas Canter ten acres of land situated on the north west corner of said survey, seventh I devise and bequeath to my son James Canter ten acres of land situated in the north east corner of said survey remaining so as to join the said Thomas Canter's ten acres in the south of said survey, eighth I devise and bequeath to my three Jonathan Canter, Jarred Canter and Stephen Canter, the remaining hundred acres of land and all my horses, cows, sheep and hogs that remain unexpended at the death of my said wife and they Jonathan Canter, Jarred Canter and Stephen Canter is to do and provide for my said wife Rebecca Canter and my idiot son Perry Canter their natural lives after my descent._ I appoint my wife Rebecca Canter and my said Jonathan Canter to be my executors for this my last will and testament ? and annulling all former will by me made and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament._ In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 11 day of April 1839, Thomas Canter. _ Singed published and declared by the above named Thomas Canter as and for his last will and testament in presence of us who at this request have signed as witness to the same:_ ?_ Wells and Nancy Trees. _ Know all men by these presents that we Rebecca Canter and Jonathan Canter executors of the last will and testament of Thomas Canter of the County of Clermont in the State of Ohio deceased and Abner McChesney and Isaac Sanders of the County of Clermont aforesaid are held and firmly bound unto the state of Ohio in the ? sum of four thousand dollars the payment whereof will and truly to be made we do bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators jointly and ? firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated at Batavia this 3rd day of September A.D. 1839. _ The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas this said executors have caused to be proven the said last will and testament and taken upon themselves the duties of executors as aforesaid now is the said Rebecca Canter and Jonathan Canter shall faithfully perform all the duties required of them as executed as aforesaid by law unto the above obligations to be ? otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in law._ Acknowledged in open court, ?
