"'Philip Whisenhunt, Charlie Robinson, Mill McInnis came before John Mills, J. P. at St. Augustine, Florida, November 25, 1783, said value of property in Amelia County, Virginia for restoration of Col. David Fanning was taken from him because he served his Magesty and was wounded June 28, 1782 and is now in St. Augustine, Florida Sept. 20, 1782 without means - the first three were first refugees of said East Florida."
His will was dated 1791, and his estate was settled in Lincoln Co., NC.
Philip and his son Conrad Whisenhunt are listed in a book of N.C. Loyalists 'British Army'. His children married into prominent Catawba Co., N.C., families and their descendants are numerous and were instrumental in building Catawba Co., N.C.
The Whisnant families who moved into the Washington Co. and Carter Co. section of Tennessee, and the Whisnants who moved from Tennessee to Illinois could possibly be descendants of Philip's sons George or Henry Whisenhunt. Philip's will is as follows:

In the Name of God, Amen The Eight Day of May one Thousand Seven Hundred & Ninety one.
I Phillip Wisanant of the County of Lincoln and State of North Carolina Black Smith being very sick and weak of Body but sound and perfect memory thangs be to God Careling unto mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die Do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say prensibly of all I give and Recommend my Soul unto the hands of almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a Deasent Christian Burial of the Discration of my Executors nothing Douting but at the general Resurection I shall Receive the Same again by the power of God as Touching such worldly Estate where with it hath pleased God to Bless me in this Life I Dispose of in the following manner and form first I give and bequeth unto my Dearly beloved wife Ana Whisanant all my household furnature Enduring her widowhood or her naterl life Likewise I give my wife tow cows and calfs and my Black mare and her owne sattel and briddle and all my sheep to have them Enduring Her naterl life and after her my wifes Deseased her Daughter Barbara Helm is to have one cow and calf and one Bed and jorn pout at ten shilling price and one at Eight shilling price and one New Spinging weel and I also will that my just debts be paid out of my Estate and I give and bequeth unto my beloved son A. Conrad Wisanant the sum of five shillings to be raised and levied out of my Estate and I also give and bequeth unto my Loveing son Adam Whisanant one hundred and twenty five acres of Land he now lives on according to the Deviding line and I also give and bequeth unto my Loving son George Whisanant my Bay mare and I also give and bequeth unto my Loving Son John Wisanant the sum of five shillings to be Raised and levied out of my Estate and I also give and bequeth and give unto my son Henry Wisanant in the hands of Adam Wisanant a horse to the valeu of ten pound North Carolina Curency he and said Henry is to live with Adam until he is at the years of twenty one then heirs to receive the horse and the said Adam is to give Henry afreedom state to the value of six pounds currency one Mattick and axe and I also give unto my Daughter Mary Madgaline Whitener the sum of five shillings to be paid out of my Estate and I also give unto my Daughter Barbara Heavener the sum of five pounds North Carolina Currency to be raised out of my Estate and I also give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Conner the sum of five pounds Currency money to Raised and paid out of my Estate I also will that my plantation I now live on shall be sold and all my just Debt to be paid and the Remainder of the money my wife is to have at her Command Enduring her naturl Life if any should be left at her Deceas it shall be Equel divided among all my Childern and her Daughter Barbara Helm and I also nomnante and appoint my trustly and Loveing Son Adam Wisanant and my Dearly beloved wife Anna Wisanant to be my whole and sole Executors of this my last will and and testament Revoking all former Legatees Ratifying this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and seal the Day and year above written.
