The Canada, Prairie Provinces Census, 1926, estimates her birthdate as 1886 (stating she was 40 at the time of the census), however family and Findagrave.com suggest her birth was in 1884.
Additional Notes from Funeral Service: Mrs. Barbara Brzak of R.R. 3 Eckville. Alberta passed away enroute to the Eckville Municipal Hospital on April 11, 1963, at the age of 78 years. The late Mrs. Brzak was born at S l a n n e, Czechoslovakia on April 10. 1885 and came to the Gael(?) School district at Eckville in 1923. Mrs. Brzak was an excellent cook. Predeceased by her husband. Joseph Brzak. Snr. in 1953. Survived bv one son. Charles Brzak of R R. 3. Eckville. One step-son. Joseph Brzak of R.R. 3, Eckville. Two brothers and one sister in Europe. There are 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Barbara Brzak will be held from the Gaetz School on Monday. April 15, 1963. at 3:30 p.m. with tne Rev. J. D. Yoos of Sylvan Lake officiating. Interment will take place in the Gaetz cemetery. Eventide Funeral Chapels of Sylvan Lake in charge of arrangements.
