The reign of this king introduced several changes in the politics of the region.
- Return of Hittite power
- of Hurrian influence
- First Hittite treaty with Egypt.
- Appearance of the Kaškans
- First mention of Troy, Ilios, and Achaea.
- Hittite conquest of Kizzuwatna.
- Peace between Mittanni and Egypt.
(Contemporary of Šauštatar of Mittanni and Niqmepa of Alalaḫ, and Kupanta-Kuruntiya of Arzawa)
A treaty known as the Kuruštama treaty may date to this reign and have been made with Amenhotep II Amāna-Ḥātpa (Amun is Satisfied) (18th Dynasty, ?) (1428-1400). This is the earliest known Hittite-Egyptian pact, and the people of the Hittite towns of Kuruštama, and Gazziura were subsequently resettled in Egyptian territory.
It is apparent that perhaps the Judeo-Christian traditions of the twelve tribes of Israel stem from names of the confederacy formed by the treaties between the Hittite kings and those of the territories held by Tudaliya and his immediate predecessors.
