He was the son of Ludvig Christoffersen Morgenstierne / Munthe and Karen, née Leganger.1688, he was born in Vik of the county of Sogn og Fjordane (Norway).1713, after his degree in theology, he was a chaplain in the village of Hafslo of the county of Sogn og Fjordane.He married Christine Ørbech (c. 1690-1741).1721 he was appointed priest in the village of Hafslo.1724 he purchased at auction the five churches with the property of the associated church in the Hafslo parish. He was a large landowner and a wealthy man as he owned eight farms throughout the parish. 1754, he died in the village of Hafslo in the municipality of Luster in the county of Sogn og Fjordane (Norway).
