Lineage:Razes

The lineage of Razes denotes a Visigothic dynasty recognized in Arab histories as Bani Razi or Bani Rasez. Many of the princes of this lineage had Mulati status within the Umayyah Califate and were allowed to intermarry with the daughters of the Caliphs. This is in part owing to the fact that the test at that time for status as Muslim was recognition of Jesus as a glorified prophet rather than a literal Son of God. The Visigoths were for the most part Arian Christians who held this point of view and were thus recognized as Muslim Princes by the Caliphate. Almoustine 03:47, 16 June 2008 (EEST)
