This Lineage is traced from Thomas Mustain the Immigrant who was married to Mary Avery and lived in Pittsylvania VA and were born circa 1722. Records indicate that the American Mustain's of this lineage are a surviving branch of the Catalan Huguenot branch of the French d'Estaing family. The lineage can be traced to a maritime family residing in the Canary Islands prior to its official discovery by Spain.
