Hasdinga

The Hasdingi were the southern tribes of the Vandals, an East Germanic tribe. They lived in areas of today's southern Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. They were part of the migratory movements of the Vandals, into the Iberian peninsula and later on to North Africa. They settled in Gallaecia, in 409, as foederati, today Galiza and north of Portugal.

It is possible according to the letters of Cassius Dio that the family of Ennodius was related to the Astingoi or Hasdingi branch of the Vandals.

The Hasdinga were pagans who worshiped the divine twins sometimes referred to as Castor and Pollux. They were noted for worship in divine groves the priests wore robes referred to derisively by the Germanic tribes as Women's clothing. And wore their hair long as a sign of strength and piety. They were also noted for participating in ritual sacrifice of their kings.
