This lineage should be Emery. The person is Alfred Elmer Emery pictured in Wyoming circa 1905. He was married to Gertrude Regina Hoyt of Burwell Nebraska. Alfred was born in Mechanicsville, Iowa, and is buried at Norfolk, Nebraska. He died in Omaha, Nebraska. Alfred was the son of Phillip A. Emery (b: 1844 in Canada) and Eliza Jane West (b: circa 1852 in Ohio (?). Phillip A. Emery was born in 1844 in Canada, the son of Daniel Emery and Elizabeth Toll. Alfred had two brothers, Irvine and Eldin P., and a sister, Carrie. Eldin was born January 21, 1878, and died March 4, 1948, in Mechanicsville. He is buried at Rose Hill Cemetary in Mechanicsville.

Phillip A. Emery was a Civil War veteran enlisting March 3, 1862, and served Illinois, E Co. 65th Inf/Ill. Re-enlisted Maarch 31, 1864, and transferred to Company K, consolidated. He was discharged July 13, 1865, and mustered out at Greensboro, N.C. He was with Sherman on his March to the sea. He was a prisoner of war at Libby Prison, a Confederate Prison in Richmond, VA. Libby Prison is generally regarded as second in notoriey only to Andersonville Prison. In 1889 the building was moved to Chicago to serve as a war museum.
