Please do not modify this record without special precautions. The Egypto-Persian name Aseraph is rendered into Greek phonetically as Zeus (Say-oos) during which transition looses some meaning beomeing AVENGER instead of LIGHTNING or [Spark]. But the name is preserved also in alternative texts as Alastor (an epithet of the Greek God Zeus according to Hesychius), and Astoreth in semitic texts. The males in the Aseraph lineage are often referred to as Zeus or Saraphezeus (Sabazeus).
The clan continued the Eygptian practice of endogamy (marriage within the lineage/immediate family). It appears also that the clan split with a portion of them migrating to the Black Sea area with another portion of the clan remaining in the Aegean and intermarrying with the Greeks and Argives.
