Rodovid's database of genealogical records reached 200,000 in early March 2009.

The previous significant accomplishment of the project was 100,000 records, which was set on on 3 December 2007. The number of records reached 50,000 on Rodovid.org on 25 December 2006.

The Rodovid development team and sysops from all the localizations are grateful to all the contributors for their continuous effort.

About

Rodovid is a free multilingual family tree portal. Anyone can access, edit and add to it. Rodovid uses its own family tree software, called Rodovid Engine, to create cohesive family trees. This family tree maker is probably the most advanced Web-based technology to date, especially in terms of its ability to generate very large trees containing dozens of generations and thousands of people. It is far beyond the capabilities of any computer-based family tree makers and Web-based technologies from paid websites. There is no need to pay any money for creating and sharing your family tree when you have Rodovid!

Rodovid is powered by the MediaWiki content management system (the same is used by Wikipedia), which allows those familiar with it to work with content at ease.
