Notes

The Irish histories preserve so much more than just the history of the Irish. The scope of the histories are such that they preserve memory of a vast migration of an interrelated people rather than just a localized kinship. The "Sons of Milesus" are far more than just the sons of a single man. There are indiciations in the lineages that some of the king names are actually dynastic desginations such as Rignacha or "descendants of Rig"; Rochactha "descendants of Ros". If read correctly it is possible to view the Irish histories as the memoirs of a people on the move and frequently intermarrying with their own cousins resulting in an apparent ancestral conflict. Understanding of the kinship dynamics and cross cultural naming conventions make it possible to see these conflicts for what they are.. Intersections of genealogy where both lineages are of equal importance to the overall history. Thus a man may end up being named as a son of his Father, and also described elsewere as the son of his Maternal Grandfather, or else as the son of his mother (if the intermarrying tribe is matrilineal).

What is important to remember is that this is a written account of an a oral history of a major ethnic group under migration who ended up ruling Ireland (and Scotland, France, Wales, North Africa, Spain, Scandianvia, Germania, Parts of Russia, Italy, Greece, the Levant, Crete and according to some...parts of America and Atlantis). No, the Lebor Gebala Erienn is not a history of Ireland! Tara was not only a hill in Ireland it was the name of an office, and any attempts to limit the timelines for the Kings of Tara, or to reconcile them to the highly problematic bibilical genealogies has resulted in deformed trees and centuries of frustrated attempts and a wholesale dismissal of these very valuable genealogies and histories.

Modern archaeological findings, and the histories of the ancient near east hold a wealth of reference to the Children of Eber and the sons of Phoeneas. I hope you find these amended genealogies interesting and enlightening.

Recent published studies by the German Egyptologist Karl Jansen-Winkeln reveal that Harsiese was never a High Priest of Amun in his own right. Both Harsiese A and his son [...du]
