In the Epic of Aqhat (14th century BC) Danel is mentioned as a King "Judging the cause of the widow, adjudicating the cause of the fatherless". His son Aqhat was destroyed but was revived by Re'u who judges with Hadad and Astarte. This would make him the same person as Pharaoh Hor-Dan.
