Page 87 of "Union County Heritage - South Carolina 1981" states that Sir Robert Singleton was a Charter member of the Second London Company in1609. He acquired land in Gloucester County, Virginia. It is assumed that he and his sons John and Henry emigrated to Virginia from Ireland since his son William, know as William of Dublin, remained in Ireland, however Robert may have never traveled to Virginia.
