Born aboardship from Ireland to the Carolinas. Received a Land grant on Warrant 263 first issued to Moses Allen on May 5th 1847 then transferred to Obediah Cook on March 29, 1849 and then to Samuel Dawson on Sept 30, 1852. The land was located in Williamson Co, Texas west of Granger. Samuel, John, James, and Riley were parties in a Lawsuit in the US District court of Galveston in March 18554 over the title to the land.
