Instituto Chileno de Investigaciones Genealógicos (ICHIG) (Chilean Institute of Genealogical Investigations) is an organization whose objective is to promote the study of genealogy in Chile and other nations, particularly Spain.
The institute was founded in Santiago on November 29, 1948 and has 70 members. The membership meets monthly between the months of April and November in work and lecture sessions.
It operates out of the Sociedad Chilena de Historia y Geografía (Chilean Society of History and Geography) and is affiliated with the International Institute of Genealogy and Heraldry.

The library contains works specializing in Chilean and international genealogy and is constantly expanded with the addition of publications from other specialized institutes overseas, especially Spain.
The archives, call Archivo Edwards Matte, have at the foundation the arcive of manuscripts of Guillermo Edwards Matte and later acquisitions.
[edit] Publications
The institute publishes an annual magazine called the Revista de Estudios Históricos, founded in 1949 with over 40 volumes published thus far.
